Let Them Eat, Erm, Wedding Cake

Gay wedding cake, that is. Though I really am at a loss at how you can make a wedding cake look MORE gay, but...yeah, wedding cakes are pretty much the gayest cakes in existance.

Anyway, Kate forwarded on an email from Canadians for Equal Marriage, and I urge you, if you support the ideal of equal rights, please, take the time to send a message to your MP telling him or her that you do not want the law repealed, and sign the CfEM petition to not reopen debate surrounding equal marriage.

Note: I'm not just posting this because I want my gay friends to throw an excellent party that will fill my belly with excellent food. But that's definitely a part of it. Just not the whole reason.

PS: Check out that cake. GAY!

You, my friend, are the best! And I promise that you will get the second slice of the gayest cake in gay-land when Roro and I tie the knot!

I found your post randomly while looking around for wedding cake photos. I just wanted to say, thanks, for making me feel a little better about the dignity and kindness of humanity as a whole. :)

Oh, I'm glad. Thought I think that nothing subverts the idea of dignity like wedding cake.

While I do agree with you on the wedding cake, I am obliged to mention the grooms cake as well. I mean, a 3D dog made out of cake ? Please. :-p

Groom's Cakes are the not-quite-grown-up version of a 5-year-old's birthday cake. And I love them because of that fact.

The cake is beautiful!! I'd like to know the name of the bakery that made this masterpiece. Is that information available?

Nope. And that post was written so long ago, I don't even remember how I found it. Although running a Google image search with a term like Super Gay Wedding Cake sounds like something I would do.

The cake is from Just Cake in Capitola, CA. The baker is Marina Souza... she's won several Food Network Cake competitions.

Dear Anonymous Poster of Sept 25, 2008. You have been deleted. Won't allow for name calling, kid. If you can't make a point without acting like a 5-year-old, I won't let you try to do so here.

I'm confused, you say that this cake is gay... Is it a homosexual cake? Does it like its own sex? Or is it for homosexual weddings. I don't see how a cake can be gay...

Gay cakes. Come on now.

Melissa said...

Yes to all of the above.

If a cake can't be gay, what hope does the rest of the world have?

Also, chill, man. You did read the rest of the post, right?
